I grew up in Southern California. I never experienced sub zero temperatures until I got stationed in South Korea. I got to deliver a load up to Edmonton in 1/05. I think it was somewhere around -40°. Not sure. Now I live in Minnesota. Despite the frigid weather, I still enjoy living here.

Feeling discomfort in the cold temperatures is all about your gear. Any day the sun is shining in a clear blue sky it's all good in my book, but dressed appropriately you'll likely love being out in it no matter the weather.

I been to minneapolis and flew to anchorage Alaska a couple days later and it was just as cold in Minneapolis as Anchorage.

I have seen Temps in Old Forge N.Y.(the ice box of the Adirondacks) at 45 below zero.
