Maybe this is a silly question because I am not entirely familiar with how an ellipse is drawn in JS, but it would seem that taking the sqrt of the count is the incorrect way to map ellipse size? The subscriber or view count is the area of the circle. Therefore to scale the circle correctly you should compute sqrt(count/pi)*2 to get the diameter of the circle?
