Last conversation with him I said strongly and calmly “I have learned that love is unconditional, but relationship is very conditional.” He wanted to start back up on the
merry-go-round if 5 years cray cray. For five years i excused his bad behavior, kept alive the powerful feeling of love i felt immediately upon hearing his voice on the phone, kept alive the dream he sold and I savored the crumbs.

Was i a fool or what? It doesn’t matter, it was unreciprocated love. It opened my heart to a feeling i never had in over 7 decades.., yes! And for that i am grateful as i feel i can transmit that love to others as well as myself. That was my wonderful and painful lesson.

I am not sure what is lesson is/was. But it doesn’t seem he has changed as i picked up a few red flags in the several of communications we had since i broke it off with him back in February of this year.

I can’t waste my time in remorse or anger. I don’t know the truth of what is going on with him. But i know my truth and at this point the door to me is closed, firmly.
