**********Lyrics**************
Well you git down the fiddle and you git down the bow
Kick off your shoes and throw 'em on the floor
Dance in the kitchen till the morning light
Louisiana Saturday night

A waitin' in the front yard sittin' on a log
Single shot rifle and a one eyed dog
Yonder come a kin folks in the moonlight
Louisiana Saturday night

Well you git down the fiddle and you git down the bow...

[ fiddle ]
My brother Bill and my other brother Jack
Belly full of beer and possom in the sack
Fifteen kids in front porch light
Louisiana Saturday night

When the kin folks leave and the kids get fed
Me and my woman gonna slip off to bed
Have a little fun when we turn out the lights
Louisiana Saturday night

Well you git down the fiddle and you git down the bow...
Yeah you git down the fiddle and you git down the bow...

Takes me back. Almost brings tears to my eyes. I was probably around 6 years old, visiting family in Oklahoma. 16 hour drive from home, shope up to a screened in porch with lightning bugs taking over the yard, this song played on the radio no less than 15 times on that road trip. Memories are my favorite possessions.

Whos listening in Dec. 2024! 80's country was the best! Even though Alan Jackson (my all time favorite) didnt produce his first Album until 1991.

the only reason you're listening to this is because of a washing machine. 1.5 playback speed. you're welcome
