How did this single ap bomb cause 30k damage?

I don't really understand this trend nowaday for the carrier rush at the start of the game, I've started playing the game again after a few month off, and almost every games I play in my low tier carriers I see the enemy rushing me, loosing all of his plane, just for a little 2000 damage at best. Is there a video out there of a Youtuber detonating a carrier at the start of a game with his planes ? because that would explain a lot.
