It was a pretty sweet planeswalker, though.

Week 5: I’m confident that my MTG deck(s) are ready. Now for the difficult part….finding friends to play against.

Lmao this is an ATTACK. I literally love green, Gishath was my first commander deck, then I shortly after got Commander legends, now I have bulk..

Week 1: I built this dinosaur commander because big creatures are awesome.

Week 4: So, anyways, my Narset deck can loop infinite turns as soon as turn 3.

The "all my friends play commander so I built a dinosaur deck" hit me differently

Cut to the player who has been playing for 10+ years, and whose whole collection is five EDH decks, a cube, and a couple random reserve list cards: "Why no, I haven't bought any sealed product in over a year. Why would I do that?"

I am about 4 months into this hobby. I first went searching for green because I loved Old Gnawbone, then built a bant dinosaur deck and then bought an innastrad box. I feel so attacked right now.

The paper moved from the Wallet to the play mat that’s all…

Omg. My whole house started playing during pandemic. I'm paying this times 3. Our decent into madness was " Dad plays green and stomps on everyone, mom plays black to kill everyone, so the kid decided to play izzet to " burn and nope" her parents. We agreed to stick to a colour per family member to make the cards " stretch further". Turns out that doesn't work.lol it just becomes an arms race. Drugs might be cheaper actually.

I know this so well. I remember when I first started getting into magic I was scoffing (behind their back of course) at people who spent even hundreds of dollars on cards and here I am now with a multi thousand dollar collection.

This is almost exactly how it was for me. Fist was only playing red/green. Then dinosaur deck. Then too much sealed product. Then commander. Then only buying singles and still being both financially and emotionaly broke

Having just started playing magic in July....this couldn't be more true. 7 upgraded commander decks, 2 1/2 top line comp modern decks and all this after building three comp standard paper decks and no one plays standard live anymore. On a positive note it has taught me a lot about the mechanics and how to make competitive decks. Still lots to learn and money to spend. Worth every penny so far for the amount of fun had.

LOL When you sold your old MTG cards only to comeback and buy them all over again... ;P

An underappreciated skill that you demonstrated in this video: knowing when to cut it at the end. This is a very good video!

My very first booster pack actually had a planeswalker, Liliana of the Dark Realms. And yes, I now have a massive collection.

Almost 100% accurate, though when I started I went though all cards in a booster pack and literally sleeved every single one of them.

Nailed it! I started exactly like that and now I have a custom built (cheaply, and by me) shelving unit full of stuff.

This is literally how it started for me.
Good thing years in Yu-Gi-Oh held me back from spending any more.
