What are Aminoglycosides and how do they work (mechanism of action: MOA)?

Nursing students, nurses, and other health care professionals need fun ways to learn about drugs and one way is to talk about mnemonics and quick tips to remember key items: antibiotics made easy.

The drug classification Aminoglycosides antibiotics are used to help manage many different diagnoses such as Staph Aureus, E Coli, Tuberculosis, Pseudomonas, and more. The bacteria target the protein synthesis inside cells and changes the way a cell functions.

The mechanism of action is halting the synthesis of proteins and there are many ways to use the word aminoglycosides to help us learn the important elements of this drug. Easy tricks to identify aminoglycosides. diseases, and side effects, contraindications as well as route of med admin are provided in this quick and fun tutorial.

great video!! Just a quick comment Staph Aureus is a Gram Positive organism not gram neg, so it's a little exception to the ami'NO' memory trick just so people don't get too confused! :)

I guess I'm confused with the first question because Tobramycin is across from E coli and Streptomycin is across from pseudomonas aeruginosa
