I was looking for a tutorial on the Ohio star block and wanted a large one and just found yours. I have a special-needs niece who lives in Ohio, she’s 65 years old, and I have never made her a Quilt, I can’t believe that. So this year she’s getting an Ohio star quilt as for Christmas, although probably not till January. Her favorite color is purple, which is mine also, and I’ve got loads of beautiful purple fabrics in my stash. I can’t wait to make it although it’s going to have to be very big because she is quite tall. She is going to be in heaven when she gets it. Back to my sewing room.

Thank you so much! I had an old pattern that stitched each triangle one at a time, after cutting on the diagonal twice. I was looking for a pattern that did the quarter squares you just showed. I just needed to know the size of the larger squares. And there you were! Even though it was a year ago. 😉😎 Thanks again. I am using up some denim and flowered fabric I've had a long time. Yay!

Thank you so much for the pattern for the 12” block. I am using red, green and gold flannel to make a Christmas quilt that is going to feel so soft and warm. I am taking your advice using more pins and clips than I would usually do because the flannel seems to stretch and creep. Making a slightly larger block then trimming down has made this a super accurate and easy to construct. ❤
