This well cared for 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood was acquired in the 1980’s in Lancaster, PA by a long-time Cadillac collector and member of the Cadillac LaSalle Club, Mr. George Boxley, whom resides in West River, MD. Mr. Boxley has decided to begin liquidating his Cadillac collection due to his age. Mr. Boxley featured the Fleetwood in numerous parades and in various car shows in and about the Atlantic City, NJ area. Mr. Boxley commissioned a complete re-paint for this Cadillac in the 1990s. The livery still shows beautifully today. The interior is mostly original and has only been updated as needed and is in very nice overall condition.
The livery of this Fleetwood is a stunning Valcor Maroon Metallic (Paint Code #59) which underwent a complete repaint in the 1990s. The paint still shows remarkably well with beautiful luster and shine with very few imperfections due to the care and maintenance undertaken by its owner who always keeps his Cadillacs garaged when not being driven. The chrome is in nice condition while showing some patina in a number of areas which are noticeable upon close inspection. The Coker wide white wall tires were also added in the 1990s and show little wear. The trunk was reconditioned by Jenkin’s Trunk Works and shows well and comes complete with a spare tire. The undercarriage is clean and rust-free. The windshield is showing some delamination along the bottom and center sections of each of the two pieces of flat glass. The overall exterior of this Fleetwood shows well overall and is a beautiful example.
The interior of this Fleetwood is mostly original in tan dual-tone Bedford Cloth and is in remarkable condition throughout. It has been updated only as needed. The seats, head liner and door panels all show well. The dark brown carpet is also in nice condition overall and showing slight wear only in high use areas. The dash is very nice condition with all gauges functioning as designed with the exception of fuel gauge and the non-functioning clock.
The engine compartment has been nicely detailed and painted and houses the 346 ci Flathead V-8 producing 150 hp at 3,400 rpm. The engine is quick staring and runs strong and well. The power is transferred to the rear wheels through its well shifting and quiet performing 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
This beautiful example of a 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special, which has been owned and cared for by an avid Cadillac collector, would be a wonderful addition to any Cadillac collection and is ready to be shown and taken on tour.
