Around fifty police officers have been injured in disorder outside a mosque in Southport, with the chaos erupting following a knife attack that left three girls dead in the Merseyside town.

The Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, urged people not to spread "false information" about Monday's attack or the suspect.

A 17-year-old who was born in the UK has been arrested over the stabbings.

Eight more children were injured in the attack, along with two adults.

If all of those rioting had innocently turned up for a vigil, then got triggered by an individual bearing a weapon (this is one of those stories that's going around) can anyone explain to us why they were unaccompanied by their wives, girlfriends and children? I know if my husband was going to a peaceful event, I'd be there with him and so would our child. Seems to be an awful lot of unaccompanied males here, so we know what their intention was from the moment they left their homes - thugs wanting to fight, vandalise and loot. How disrespectful to a community in mourning.

You have a select group of English men, burning down their beloved English town, throwing rocks and injuring their fellow English men, chanting they want their country back whilst thier country is STILL soverign over multiple other countries. Targeting a select demographic that has no ties to the said tragedy they are angry about. Mad at the authorities for not breaking their English law to satisfy their destain for the demographic that was not connected to the situation. All in the nane of protecting their English Values... this is wild.
