Hidden Leaders is a card driven, deduction game of tug of war where players control a hidden leader that is secretly aligned to two of four major factions. Players will be drafting and playing action cards from their hand in order to try and manipulate and move the crown and hill marker up and down the central game board track.

The Emperor has recently died and his six children are now competing with each other for the title of the throne and power over the kingdom. The emperor had influence over four distinct factions, the Red Imperial Army, the Green Hill Tribe, The Blue Water People and the Black Undead.

Each of the four factions in the game has a different win condition based on the position of the two markers at the end of the game. Players are essentially aiming to build an army of heroes aligned to one of their hidden leaders factions as well as also being victorious by the end of the game.

Players are going to be trying to build their army using face up and face down hero cards. If a player has a certain number of face up hero cards, then the end of the game is triggered.

The player who has the greatest amount of face up and face down hero members in the winning faction BUT ALSO has a leader aligned to the winning faction will be determined the ultimate winner of the game.

Elegant is the perfect description for this game, the art is amazing, even when every single card is different, is easy to follow the effects of the cards, the rules are simple and is enjoyable to see how the markers struggle for power.

We have changed about 20 hero abilities to make them more ambiguous. Eg a red hero giving red -1 (instead of +1). This allows for more bluffing and deduction :-)

I have watched several of your videos now and to be blunt they feel like previews or infomercial more than reviews. Where’s your actual opinion? How did your plays go? What do you and your friends feel about the game? No comparison with other games in the same genre either.
