They're developing gen 2 full reusability right before our eyes when no-one else is gen 1 yet. So happy I'm alive to see this.

What is crazy is people don’t realize that we live in an age where we are building the motivation and the tools for the future of humanity in space. I am thankful that am alive to witness this

The flip at the end of the flop will be done mainly by closing the rear control surfaces and opening the forward canard surfaces. The rocket will then pivot around the forward control surfaces as the Raptor engines gimbal to stop the swing and bring the rocket to a vertical position for the landing.

Well done Ian. Great information and commentary. How many astronauts will the Starship eventually be able to take to the moon for example?
50, 000 feet = 15.24 km

I keep on saying it's not a rocket if it's not pointy on the top. Finally we're getting a pointy one!

Your presentation is fantastic regarding the tanker refilling program I suggest you watch angry astronaut he gives a very good explanation of the issues regarding refilling the tanks and how many flights have to be made just to fill one starship
God bless you all

According to the Starship Users Guide the nose section/payload bay will be removable and will be positioned in some sort of payload processing facility near the launch site. The payload cargo will then be loaded into the payload bay. The nose section/payload bay will be moved to the launch site and will be stacked on the lower part of Starship. This is pretty much what's going on now with SN8 except the payload bay is empty.

The rolllift actually uses load distribution across multiple axle groups and NOT wheel span, each wheel is standard in diameter & width and is mounted on a single axle with independent drive units which can be rotated around its mounting point above providing infinite turning in very tight areas, in addition each wheel set can be raised and lowered to maintain load deck leveling..

The roll lift uses the same load spreading principle as a rail wagon which spreads it's load across it's multiple bogies and axles...

The Tesla motors drive the control surfaces through a gear train (probably a reduction for increase in torque to drive the large surfaces).

Now I may want to see sn8 nose cone getting welded on sn8 prototype any time.

Motors are operating through a gear box, would be interested in the details of that box, e.g. ratio and torque
