Georges Bataille on Islam

Note: This video is a reupload of one originally posted on Jordan's channel on February 12th, 2024. The original description for the video is as follows:
''In this video, I read an excerpt from Georges Bataille’s seminal masterpiece of political economy and intellectual tour de force, The Accursed Share: An Essay on General Economy, titled ‘’Islam: The Conquering Society’’. In today’s world, we must think of Islam not only as a religious, social, or even political(Islamist) force, but as a Deleuzian war machine, a key player in the rhizomatic network of opposition to Western unipolar hegemony.
By the end of the month, I will have uploaded a long video analysis and elucidation of some of the themes of Cyclonopedia, with a particular emphasis on drawing from the book’s myriad ideas and motifs to analyze recent geopolitical, aesthetic, and intellectual developments. In this regard, I follow in the footsteps of Nick Land, whose work Kodwo Eshun described as possessing the scintillating ability to dramatize ‘’theory as a geopolitico-historical epic.’’
On a similar note, I would also recommend the Twitter/X and Substack accounts of Karim(AKA Abd-Al Karim/Karim ibn-Rashid) of the burgeoning Infrared collective
