Will the service of a Vietnam era veteran come into consideration as Judge Caprio renders his verdict?

I was in the Navy stationed in Newport from 1963 to 1967. I have always felt guilty that Fellow service members gave a lot more than I. When the judge said to the vet "that any time you could have been sent to Vietnam", So he thought any who served deserved to be honored, it felt a small relief from that guilt. Thank you Judge Caprio

I'm a US Navy combat veteran from the Gulf War. I served with some of the Vietnam vets as they wound down their careers in the mid to late '80's. They are among'st the most honorable men I have ever known. Bravo, Judge Caprio!

Hi, I am from Syria, and I am a big fan of this show, we used to have people like judge Caprio in our legal system before dictatorship took over our lives, this is why I feel glad to watch such judge who is able to govern with the spirit of the law rather than the actual text of the law.

Being a part of PAVN, I never expected these American soldiers would be treated insanely by their own countrymen after being defeated ! Every soldier deserves respect irrespective of the war results! I am honoured to be serving Vietnam from 1960 to 1965 ! The picture hanging right in front of my main entrance of the house brings back some good memories of our victory and encourages me to do better as I leave my house!

I like this judge! My late husband was a Vietnam Vet, *USMC*. Anyone who respects our military, no matter where they are stationed, war/peace time, any and every branch....they have my UNDYING respect and gratitude. Semper Fidelis!! ❤🇺🇸💙

How he feels the need to correct himself and say "i was in Germany" and "i was in during Vietnam" not saying that he fought in Vietnam is sad. There are probably people that have accosted him or at the very least verbally harassed him about it like he isn't a 'real' Vietnam vet.

God bless all vets, no matter what branch of the military, but especially that served during the Vietnam era.

I served 8 years in the USMC and have enormous respect for the Air Force. Their enlisted people send the officers out to do the fighting.

Thank you James, Inspector Carrigan, and all the folks (past, present, and future), for your service in the military :-). The world is a bit safer because of you and your sacrifices. Condolences to the military families who lost loved ones. RIP :-(

Thank you Mr. Boland, I wish I could shake your hand. I would tell you thank you for your service. And I would say I am sorry for the way Vietnam Vets were treated. Thank you Judge for having a kind and merciful heart.

My dad served in Vietnam. He never liked people anyone that wore a hat or talked about it.

Those that brag about service……SERVED ME BREAKFAST. That was the response the first time I asked about his service.

I learned more while he was passing.

We don't have anything like this programme in England, we're too reserved and private to behave in this way but I do find some of these cases very moving and I really do admire the Judge for his kindness and humility. Good luck to our American brothers and sisters.
