AI Assistant: Don’t Code Alone

JetBrains AI Assistant provides AI-powered features to aid software development. It can explain code, answer questions about code fragments, provide code suggestions, generate documentation, commit messages, and much more.
During this session, we are going to use JetBrains AI Assistant in quasi-real-world development situations.

Speaker: Andrey Sokolov
Andrey joined JetBrains more than 12 years ago as a junior developer on the PhpStorm team. Through his work on refactorings and other subsystems, he realized that he wished the IDE could suggest refactorings automatically, and that’s how he started to learn how AI could be used for code analysis.
At the end of 2022, as large language models were revolutionizing the industry, Andrey joined the new AI project, which, after a year of extremely intensive work, led to JetBrains releasing AI Assistant as a new product. As a source of pride for Andrey, he chose to make this presentation as a way to showcase some examples of how developers can use AI Assistant to make better software.

Im 36 and I've started to learn programming and i chosed java to begin. But i hear that people say with AI you dont need to learn anymore in other words its nonsense and in mid levels it doesn't let you work and it will be replaced somehow. Is it true?

You guys really need to see what Cursor editor is doing, the've completely smashed the integration. Fleet and the rest of the AI integration I see are far behind. You guys can do better with the AI plugin, much better.
