I am from NE and want to add that separatist of NE(Abrahamics/Maoists) refer to India to the west as “Mainland India" as if we are some people who are not supposed to be part of India. The thing is; Akhand Bharat to the east is The Mainland because it is the region where Hinduism is most populous. Mainland Hinduism is NE India(Buddhism is not a religion seperate from Hinduism)

i am from Sikkim and we are the Bhutia community, since childhood i ve been told that we were originally from bhutan. there is a small hamlet called "HAA" and once the haa community had huge disageements with the kingdom hence were exiled from the kingdom. since sikkim was near by bhutan and the haa community took refuge at sikkim. i dont know how much truth lies in this story.but still its a mystery.

NE Indians are Mongoloids not Mongolian. Mongoloid is a race whereas Mongolian is a nationality, the people of Mongolia are called Mongolian.

Tai people were originally from different parts of Thailand, Yunan, and Myanmar... There are 6 Tai communities in India, Tai Ahom, Tai Khamti, Tai Phake, Tai Aiton, Tai Khamyang and Tai Turung.

I am from NE and belong to upper assam and when I was in my primary school we learned about caste system but it was hard for me to imagine it cause the book says that all the Hindus were once part of the caste system. Where here even my tribe, who follow Hinduism were not part of the caste system. I think the books should mention about which empire or dynasty the system was applied. My tribes ancestor were the high priests according our floks and even in google. And we are native to the region of upper assam and lower arunachal.

Most of us Zo people (Chin-Kuki-Mizo people) have done 23andme My Heritage DNA test and most of the results show that we're 70-75% Chinese and Vietnamese, 5-10% Nepali and the rest being Mongol, Inuit, Finnish, Italian and Central Asians. Among these Nepali I've mentioned, most of them were Tibeto-Burman language speakers and were not Indo-Aryan language speakers.

Our ancestors were followers of Sakhua. Sakhua can only be followed by a pure Zo descent. No other ethnic groups can practice it. That's why, interracial marriage was very less in the olden days.

While studying in Delhi I was asked many times if I was from China, Japan etc and I would say yes, I'm not from India. It's embarrassing to be called an Indian if they don't accept me as one.

My father researched about our community a long time age and he found that our ancestors are from Mongolia.
He had published a book long time ago and it already got out of stock.
He handed the Copyright to the Central Government and it's listed in the official government site too.

I'm from northeast India. We are racially Mongoloids. Culturally Sino-tibetan. And nationality is Indian. End of debate

Let alone who live in modern India, if you even live in Europe and the Americas, chances are you're actually Indian. All the migration happened from here, Originating from Africa, after centuries of settling down in India, different clans migrated towards the other parts of the world.

Arjun's wife chitrangada was from manipur, bheem's wife hidimba was from cachar, assam. NE has been contributing to the rich past since the ancient time.

Manipur was forced to join India at gunpoint in Shillong. Manipuris have similar DNA culture to the South East Asians.

Note that many of today's north eastern states were not part of the so-called pan-indian civilisation until the British incorporated them into British india. Assam have long lost its identity and is today full of Bangladeshis and Indian caucasoids from other parts of the country. A better example is Arunachal pradesh and Tripura (until very recently).
Unfortunately Tripura is also being overrun by Bangladeshi refugees.

Genetically NE people do not share mainland india DNA. Some similarities are there because of intermixing between different races.
But telling that we come from the same root is just absurd.
Khasia people of meghalaya are related to the cambodians, naga and munda people have come from the Philippines(many milennium ago), bodo people from Tibetan region, tai people from yunnan and burma. How can they share same gene with the mainland indians apart from the intermixed ones?

#AskAbhijit Sir right now this is the period when Ambubachi mela in Assam's Kamakhya Temple happens. But due to pandemic this year it has been cancelled. Sir, what is the history of Kamakhya Temple and What is this festival's significance? During this period for 4 days we shouldn't cut tress, cut leaves, dig holes on ground... Why? Please answer if you know❤
