- Lumbermen arrived in the area to harvest Michigan's pine in 1861
The first settlers arrived in Morley (Charles Lawson, Neldon Pick, Michael Swanger, George H. Ward, Hiram Bryant, Allen Chapin, Rodney Elmer, and Harvey Winas) in 1869
In October of 1869 - The Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad (GR&I) reaches the Village and began to run trains daily each way between Grand Rapids and Morley.
The Morley Post Office was established in 1869 by (Frank P. Bodwell, Postmaster)
