Dazzle agrre with your comments. I'm a HD rider but am really dissapointed that they have been 'boned'.

Your AMG comments are interesting. I can see the need for a HD CVO type division within Indian. Perhaps borrowing tech and ideas from Victory.

I was never in a financial position to keep my HD & buy a Victory like the 'Hard Ball'. But I appreciated the styling and especially the Freedom 106 motor and the ease of home maintenance.

Personally, I will be buying a Victory as my 2nd bike down the line.

Cheers - ride safe.

I agree with you about making Victory the sporting arm of Indian, it would be a shame to see the name disappear

It is a sad day. I feel like I lost an old friend. I have been riding them for several years and I, for one, am going to stick with them till I reach the end of the road.

I agree with you dazzle. Victory had a chance to reinvent itself when they showed the project 156, which had great support from the public. only if victory would have listened and marketed more towards the naked sport, or even full sport bike groups. maybe victory would have turned out different. But as you said victory wasn't pulling in enough money for polaris to take that chance.

Thumbs up but sucks that Victory is no more. I had a blast at a product exhibition last summer and was very impressed with the bikes. Saying that, I'd rather lose Victory than Indian.

It's a shame that the brilliant Victory 106 Freedom motor will be no more.

Victory motorcycles are not going away, the no pushrod lifter system with its gear primary side and wet sump, oil/air system is not going in the trash. It's technology was ahead of it time and it's maintenance free design is revolutionary.

Oh well I guess the Indian brand has the heritage. I guess there might be some great deals around on Victory now, so long as the dealers have pre registered them if they don't meet Euro 4.

Polaris has made a huge mistake. They could take the most productive models and roll them into Indian name. The Cross Country is by far the most comfortable touring bike on the market and the best for the money. It has everything you could want. It was the fastest 1/4 mile of the big three, best wind protection, most comfortable seat, largest storage, cheapest price, easiest to work on, most dependable, what more do you need?

I found out that Polaris tried to purchase Indian years ago, when they were unsuccessful they started Victory. feel the pain for Victory owners but Indian is doing very very well and Victory has been losing money since Indian came out.

very sad. Indian may not last log either if they don't expand their line.
I heard Victory was going to revamp the line for 2018. I would lobe to see what they were going to create.

first thing that the King's Mtn. bike dealers told Polaris : don't try to sell us Victories re-badged as Indians

Victory did much better in the U.S., where cruisers are top sellers. No, they cannot compete with Harley-Davidson, but neither can anyone else. IMO, Victory motorcycle were getting out of hand looks wise, but the Ness Mess was mostly to blame for that. I loved the original V92C, and wished they had continued to develop that, and not get into the crazy WCC/OCC thing, where the bikes were designed more to look at than ride, and I don't even like that overstyled custom look. The Vision may have been the final nail in the coffin, a more hideous motorcycle was never made. It was disgusting. But Victory had a good engine, and the ability to build good "normal" motorcycles. Despite the fact that I have some issues with the looks of some of their bikes, I see this move as a sellout. They are abandoning their customers (a good motorcycle should last a lot longer than 10 years (my 1985 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 was bought new and is still going strong 32 years later) and Victory will not have an aftermarket like Harley does. I believe this will have a negative effect on Indian sales, because after Polaris abandoned Victory owners, Indian may be next. There will be $30, 000 bikes out there that you can't get parts for. A company that does not take care of it's customers will soon find itself without any customers.

Well, the whole "we will support Victory motorcycles with parts for 10 years" has already turned into a BIG FAT LIE! I'm already getting parts orders cancelled because the parts aren't available. What the hell? I guess the next time we will hear about Victory is when the class action lawsuits start hitting the courts.

Holy shit. Now what am I going to do with my 2014 Cross Country? God Dammit.

Sadly Victory had better styling than anything from Indian. It also shows that people buy because of a name or just bad advertising.

IMO they don't want to compete with themselves and Polaris don't want their shareholders to see two companies with so so sales. Put the effort into Indian. It's new, it's all the buzz right now and people are watching. As a victory owner I'm not happy for sure. I think they're going to lose sales on the Indian side to because people like me that are in the market for a new touring bike are going to be afraid to buy an Indian because it's 30 grand price tag and have the "curse of the Indian" hit and in a few years they are gone. I really don't think they have a good foot hold in the market yet so I'm going to lead towards Harley myself.
