00:00 Introduction

Within the realm of dress shirts, Eton is widely regarded as the bridge between high-end shirtmakers like 100 Hands and mass-produced retail chains like Banana Republic, J Crew or Charles Tyrwhitt.

Their trendier cuts and style detailing on most their shirts, like spread collars, bold and classic fabrics, non-iron treatments, and use of pattern under the collar and cuffs, have made them especially popular with young office professionals in England and around the world.

02:25 History

A Closer Look At Eton Shirts
Eton has claimed in the past that they make the best dress shirts in the world, so of course, you want to know, is that actually true? So what do you, as a consumer, actually get in terms of materials, construction, fit, and details when you buy an Eton shirt?

14:26 Are You Getting a Good Value For Your Money?
Overall, Eton puts out a high-quality product. You get high-quality fabrics, lots of collar options, fabric, style, and fit options. The workmanship is neat, the buttons don’t come off, the shirts last and the organic wrinkle-resistant treatment is great, particularly if you travel a lot

On the flip side, The buttons feel a bit cheap, the collar stays are not removable, and there is no handwork or hand stitching on the shirt, which is something you will find from companies like 100 Hands, Borrelli, Attolini or Finamore.

16:10 What Does All This Mean for You as a Customer?

17:30 Is It Really Worth It?
There are many other dress shirts and each and everyone has different needs and desires. If you want the ultimate amount of workmanship, they’re definitely not the best shirt. If you want the perfect fit, they’re definitely not the best shirt. If you want the best non-iron or wrinkle-resistant shirt, I think they are probably the best shirt you can buy in the market.

Eton does have sales where you can get shirts at 40 to 50% off, and obviously, they become a much better value then. Still, apart from my non-iron shirts even at 50% off, I would rather go with an online made-to-measure company so you can get exactly what I want with a better fit at a lower price. If you’re on a really tight budget, you can find Eton shirts for relatively low prices in good shape on eBay still.

I bought my husband an Eton shirt for $4 at a thrift store, looked brand new. It is the best shirt my husband has.

This is what I love about your videos...you're answer isn't just a simple yes or no. You consider every type of menswear customer and then give answers that consider those certain aspects that we are looking for.

I love all of my Eton shirts although they are pricey. My Eton shirts are still nice after washing which most shirt degrade immediately after washing. The long cotton thread and cotton used in Eton shirts can attribute to their longevity. Made to measure shirts at lower price doesn’t necessary mean they are better quality. The feel, quality, look, and longevity of the Eton shirt check all the blocks for a nice quality shirt. The entry price could deter your purchase but once purchased I believe most will be happy and will be return customers.

I love these videos. They’re always so ‘inconclusive’. There’s rarely a yes or no. It’s a very balanced analysis of every element and then the decision is up to us whether we think it’s worth it for us or not. Quite a range position to take on YouTube. Very gentlemanly.

Simply one of the best men’s shirts ever. I used to sale them back in mid 90’s when was in school. They have a store in Santa Monica. Worth every penny.

In Sweden we pay around 75-150 Euro or 83-180 usd for a Eton shirt.

I only wear Eton shirts (39, slim). I bought my first one 15 years ago and still love wearing it today. Especially their non-iron shirts are great.

I fully agree that Eton has the best value for non-iron shirts. It’s my default choice for business shirts.

I've heard a lot of good things about their non-iron shirts. I think that, when it gets to great quality dress shirts, you really want to invest as much as you can. Shirts are always against your skin and comfort and style shouldn't be compromised.

Bonobos and Jcrew use to make up my work attire, but for some reason I always felt like the quality was inferior to the prices I paid. Throughout this year I acquired a small collection of Eton shirts and I am quite pleased. However, I am open to venture further to different high-end shirt makers. I am glad I watched your video!

I have two Etons and love them, but I also think they're overpriced compared to likes of Hawes and Curtis (glad to see them in the video at the end!). I have never tried a bespoke shirt, however, and look forward to buying my first after COVID. Thanks for the video!

Great video! I have tons of these, and I love every single one. You should do a is it worth it video on Tom Ford. Is it worth the hype?

Top class review! I've never paid more than £15 for an Eton shirt. I rate them very highly, but no way would I pay full retail price for them.
