FYI the flakes you see at the end of the video are using the 5mm sieve we have installed. You can also get these in 4 and 8mm. This machine can produce between 3-15kg per hour depending on the sieve you use. Smaller sieve = slower output.

I have made a similar shredder. I have unfortunately paused my plastic recycling project, but I designed an auger for mine that feeds the plastic directly to a buffer tank above my extruder, so I don’t have to use a drawer. My auger also helps prevent getting plastic dust everywhere.

I never finished the project but other hobbies have gave me very much plastic waste (i have possibly around 300kg) so I should really start those projects back up really soon. I have finally gotten courage to start making video content too (on twitch) so my plastic recycling machines would be perfect to start streaming about now 😁 and you guys are one of my biggest inspirations by the way!

What a machine ! Too bad we don't have one that good . Ours is made by someone that I'm sure used a template and knew how to weld and the motor looks like its an over sized air conditioner fan motor . It has seen a lot of plastic though so it's not all that bad lol .

I used to work as a mechanic in a plastic recycling plant and we had similar machines but a little bit bigger 😂...
These machines could easily shred 4000 kilo per hour and they were huge...
Im pretty sure that if a person would have fallen in one of these he would never have noticed it and would be minced meat in a fraction of a second 😂....
Changing the knives in these machines was a 1/2 day job and each knife was 60 cm long and 20 cm high.
2 of these knives where next to each other and there were 6 rows of 2 knives all on a huge rotor that probably was close to 800 kilo it self...
