Because of that trade, the Celtics get Tatum and Brown. One of the biggest heists in NBA history - and Simmons (the “know-it-all”) thought they got $0.35cents on the dollar. Hysterical to look back now. I understand at the time you don’t want to see your team rebuild, but it’s the best thing that ever happened to the Celtics.

The best part here is Bill saying OKC getting a disappointing Number 12 pick and that turns out to be Steven fucking Adams who now is regarded by many as the second or third best player from the 2013 draft. Fate did Bill Simmons in so many dirty ways lol.

In the late 1980s Celtics GM Red Auerbach had chances to possibly trade away Bird, McHale, or Parrish, who were near past their primes, and later regretted not pulling the trigger. Danny Ainge was a player on the Celtics then and learned that hard lesson.
