Thanks for watching! Drop a like if you enjoyed - it really goes a long way!

CORRECTION: Basquiat died in 1989, not 1998. This was just a misspeak whilst filming, and unfortunately I've only noticed now when the video is live.

I love Basquiet's art, particularly the urgency and energy he put into his mark-making. Its almost as if he knew he was not long for this world.

Hi Alex!
As an artist myself, discovering your page has been the biggest motivator for me to get out of my depressive lifeless rut and live my life as an artist again. Your wonderful videos with the specific focus on artist studios are something I now look forward to every day, and I truly hope and wish that you continue to grow and keep making what you love. Thank you!

It is so frustrating when an artist struggled so much when he/she was alive and then to see his works sell in the millions after they are gone. Just feels so wrong somehow. Plus, if you have that Vincent Van Gogh stigma of their works being sold because they had so much struggles when they were alive and not the beautiful works themselves.

painting many paintings at one time, tv on, music on, even having different people there sometimes. sounds so much like adhd

Nicely produced video of an aspect of this artist's life that is often overlooked. Thank you for this, Alex.

I hope you continue this series, its such a nice thorough intorduction to how the artists use their space and in turn how it impacts their work. Presented very nicely !

I've watched a few of your videos now and I really enjoy them. I love to paint and I love art in general. Learning about various different artists is very intriguing to me and I sometimes like to put on a video and let it play in the background while I paint. Thank you for the videos!

He died in 1988 not 1998; I remember going to see the Julian Schnabel biopic in 1996 and he had been dead for years at that point...😶He definitely died too soon, he would have made a great writer, could have written a graphic novel or some kind of picture book. Imagine how fantastic that would have been 🎉

Thanks for this. I’ve recently been enjoying the art of Johnny Depp, and it appears he’s heavily influenced by Basquiat
