If you would like to support German in Venice with some gas money or you want to buy me a coffee you are welcome to donate to my paypal account

I just drove to rodeo drive in Beverly Hills and walked around then I went to Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Boulevard. I could not believe it was around 11 o’clock and there’s barely nobody on Sunset Boulevard. Even Hollywood Boulevard feels like a ghost town. Where is everybody?

The nightlife is dead because PEOPLE ARE BROKE 😂 you have to spend minimum $100 a person to go out anywhere now. It's insane

I used to drive a limo from 2006-2019. If anyone remembers those good old times, it’s us limo drivers. I remember having a client sign the contract which specified you couldn’t smoke inside the limo, she said, it wasn’t gonna work for them. She offered me three hundred dollars to let them smoke, on top of a hundred and fifty dollar tip, plus my hourly rate, how could I refuse. I took them to a club off La Cienega and Beverly Blvd, since they didn’t have a reservation, they were asked 10K for a table, they said, “no problem.” Back then, people seemed to have a lot of money because there were literally thousands of limos everywhere. After Covid, the limo business just died off, the insurance companies quadrupled their premiums and made it almost impossible to do business. Now, you’re lucky if you see a limo once in a while.

It is so refreshing to think that maybe American don’t give a crap about movie stars any longer.

Not only are you nearing 400K subs, but your videos have gained almost 100M views! That's a remarkable achievement, Mike.

Hollywood in general is pretty depressing these days, and it's been that way for years. The homeless tents all along Sunset Blvd. are such a depressing sight. My youth in the 1980s was spent clubbing on the Strip, playing gigs on the Strip, and just cruising around in general. All gone now.

I visited LA back in 2002. My buddy from my military days and myself stayed in Santa Monica, hit Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and of course the strip. Had a few beers at the Rainbow Room and at an outdoor bar on the strip. The weather was awesome. It was in early April. My same buddy located to the LA area in the 2010s. He said it was sad how everything had went downhill. It's not just LA, the whole country seems to be heading toward a dark future.

LA native here! It definitely is very different from years ago and very sad to see. Gone are the days where families can go out to enjoy a nice day out. Many are picking up extra shifts to cover necessities and it's too expensive to go out. On top of that, it's not very safe to bring families out anymore.

Found out today my grandma is not doing good and going into hospice. One year when I was 12 she took me and my brother to LA for the weekend, we went Universal Studios and stayed in Hollywood on Saturday. Sunday we went to Venice and walked the board walk and she got us little pedal bikes similar size to your little electric. I remember walking around Hollywood at night with her seeing all the stars in the sidewalk. Thanks for sharing today and reminding of those beautiful memories with my Grandma. Love ya Mikey

Thanks for showing in 2025. I used to travel to Hollywood and spent time on Sunset Blvd. in the middle 1990's. I had fun. It was full of people then. I remember seeing limousines show up around supper time, driving down the Blvd. Rich people, I guess. I used to go shopping for my clothes on Melrose Avenue. They had the neatest stores. Good memories.

I remember clubbing and cruising around Hollywood in the 80s. Seven Seas, Club Hollywood, the Palace, Florentine Gardens, Carlos and Charlies, Coconut Teasers....The list goes on.

Didn’t even need to go clubbing, the Blvd was packed with women, just cruising and out to have a good time..

I'm so glad I'm not young in today's soulless world...

Hollywood is finished. A museum now at best.

I'm from the UK. Getting to LA was a childhood dream, but I am now 61 and will never manage it. I have left it too late. The magic and spirit appears to have gone. It's very sad to see how it is today.

Wow. I used to work and live in Beverly Hills! I can't believe it's completely deserted!! Where are all of the people at!??? It used to be packed at night! This is so sad and depressing!!! I least I got to live there when things were great and happening!!! I have so many good memories of going out with my friends in Beverly Hills. ❤❤

I arrived in California in March of 1970. In those days, it was paradise. We loved Santa Monica, Venice and Marina del Rey. Today, LA is a sewer...I'm glad I'm gone.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Mike!

I hung out in the Hollywood area in the mid 70s and lived in LA and OC 'til about 1981. I remember many of the places you pointed out, or what predated them (e.g. the Tower Records). Some of it is glitzier, but that flash is hollow. The rest looks pretty run down.

Still, nice to revisit it with you. Thanks, Mike!

Inflation, hoeflation, and sky high expectations are just a couple reasons as to why we have these empty clubs and empty nightlife areas.

I’m a native Southern Californian and I don’t feel safe anymore going to Hollywood or Beverly Hills at night. I’m glad I enjoyed these places a few years back. I went to Micelli’s around 3 times with my husband and one other time with friends treating them to dinner while in town. I saw many movies at the Manns Theater and when it was called Gramanns Chinese Theater then shopping at the stores around the area. Now with the fires, etc. it’s gotten worse. I honestly don’t know how they expect to hold the Olympics in LA. It’s going to be interesting how the Oscars show comes out this year. 😔Thanks for taking us around during the night with this video. Nicely done. ❤🙏⭐🌴
