My stepdad knew a lot of people involved in Philippine politics, and he said that based on what he's heard and if you really think about it, President Marcos did not and would not order the assassination of Mr. Aquino because for someone as intelligent as President Marcos was, he knew that he would automatically be blamed for it if he ordered it. Another thing he told me was not to believe everything I see or hear in the news because media can easily be manipulated. He said most of the truth is actually hidden behind the news. And being a dad myself now, I tell my kid the same thing.

Both the Agrava and Herrera Commission established a very important fact. That AVSECOM Col. Prospero Olivas was the highest ranking official who could have authorized or ordered the assassinations. As to who was behind Olivas is no longer established by evidence but by opinion or conclusion. The only possible people who can order Olivas was President Marcos, General Ver acting for Imelda or the illusive Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile.
Danding Cojuanco may have the money but he doesn't have the reputation or the authority or the motive to kill Aquino. Danding faction is quarreling with the Peping faction of the Cojuanco business empire where Cory belong. So Danding would not have any benefit in bringing down Marcos by killing Aquino or by any other means. In fact Danding's business prospered because of his alliance with Marcos. His UCPB bank was utilized for government Cocofed and Coco levy fund operations. So why would Danding want to bring down Marcos.
On the other hand Enrile who was a co author of martial law and supposedly the next in rank to Marcos under the power system he helped design where the Vice President and Prime Minister are just decorations, has been going around military camps establishing good relationship with junior officers who are not loyal to Ver.
Some commentators at that time believe that Enrile was planning to take over power from Imelda and Ver if Marcos' condition will become serious.
But the return of Ninoy Aquino changes everything. The opposition with the help of the international community maybe able to convince Marcos to transition the government to democracy and to have an election. The rumor at that time was Marcos showed some willingness to talk and mention the name of Bobby Ongpin as a caretaker acceptable to him and to the opposition.
Enrile may have not foreseen the magnitude of the people's reaction on the Aquino assassination. He has said before regarding martial law that the protests and resistance of the people will always wear out and diminish in the passage of time. Perhaps he thinks that the same thing will happen in the event of an Aquino assassination. When it became apparent that the protest was snowballing becoming bigger and bigger instead of fading Enrile wisely started to move to the opposition side organizing his so called Reform the Armed Forces movement.

To continue, now iam proud to say that how can The Marcoses ordered the assasination where in fact ninoy was fully protected and by the time he was confined in Heart Center he was sick and vulnerable, he can easily be a target, the Marcoses often visit him and make sure he was given full medical attention, In fact the Marcoses had a suite in Heart Center to monitor him during Ninoys confinement in Heart Center. My professor said it was not Marcos who killed Ninoy. Marcos helped and warned him not to go home because someone wanted to kill him yet Ninoy didn't listen. The men who killed BA was among the clan or staff of Cory Aquino.

Kinilabutan ako. What my mom said was true. Ninoy was given the special privilege while he was in detention. My mom had this huge crush on Ninoy because he was so handsome so she'd wake up early to see a glimpse of him while he jogged with the security personnel. He went to clubhouse and ordered anything there and his family could see him too. Though my mom adored his appearance and charismatic way of talking, my mom said that he was a liar and created numerous stories like he was totured, he was the victim, etc. He betrayed the country. He was tried and convicted dealth penalty for the killings, illegal firearms and communist participation. It was not easy for me to believe because history textbooks tell that he was a hero. President Marcos said that if you won't believe your mother, whom are you going to believe? When vidoes such as this validate testimonies of people who once narrated what they know, it just gives me the chills. You cannot even say it's just legend because facts and evidences are there. No one ordered Ninoy's assasination. He himself arranged it with the CIA, having once been a CIA operative in Indonesia. His triple heart bypass had failed but he wanted to die a hero to erase the treason of his father, a known collaborator of the Japanese during WWII. A CIA marksman shot Ninoy from the MIA rooftop. Thats why the trajectory was so highly angled. Ninoy died for selfish political ambition not for patriotism.
