Great, I’ll now add low cranial top to my list of issues 😂

I wish more beauticians would address face and head shapes and proportions, instead of just doing a cut, color or style without regard to those variations, so we can be left with our most becoming flattering way to wear our hair.

I have a low cranial top and a pretty tall forehead and I like it that way. I dunno I think…I have changed my own beauty standard to fit myself. By exploring all of the ways in which I was told I wasn’t good enough by society, by peers, by advertising and tv, by the example of self deprecation set by my mother and other women in my life. I unpacked those things, unwound them. By changing the way I speak to myself about my body and my appearance, I changed what is beautiful to me. I don’t want to look like anyone but me. And I don’t want to have someone else’s head shape.

Just when I thought I could stop obsessing about my 'thigh gap', now I've got my 'cranial top' to ruminate about - jk - good tips!

Such a useful video! I have been trying to understand why, growing up, I looked better with wild, unruly hair as a toddler compared to brushed, flat hair as a teenager...it was all because the messy hair created the illusion of a high cranial top! The more you know...

Wow! Eye-opening! I've always looked better with curtain bangs and soft, messy up-dos to create height. Always thought it was simply about my face shape combined with having fine, flat hair but now I know - low cranial tops plays a big role too!

that why I always felt my head was flat, due to a low cranial top. I also never liked headbands on me and couldn't understand why.

It would be great if there was a tool where we could input our details (face shape, cranial top, forehead size, side profile type, etc....) and it gave us recommendations according to all those features 🤔😍

Was hoping for some style suggestions for low cranial tops… not just cut face framing bangs and volumizing products.

I have forever been blow drying and pinning the top of my hair up to give my flat head volume - no teasing my fine hair! Good to see this being talked about ❤

These last two videos have been so educational for me! Why have we never heard content like this before? Brava!

Thank you for this video. I’m a low cranial top but unlike both of these examples who have high foreheads, I have a shorter forehead much like you. I virtually never see any hairstyle examples for this combo. It would be great if you’d give our low cranial top that have a lower hairline or short forehead (however you’d call it)some styling tips. I’ve always known it’s not all about face shape so I appreciate this type of video so much. ❤

TIL low cranial top with wide jaw less narrow forehead, I get why i’ve always preferred curtain bangs, side parting and updo! You’re a genius babe 😂❤

Now I know why I always prefer styling my hair with extra volume lol. Makes sense! I may have a low cranial top but I’m beautiful regardless. Even if I wasn’t, my physical appearance doesn’t define me. Thank you for sharing these insights. ❤
Remember which one is more desirable is just an opinion. And how to style it is just a suggestion. It’s like when someone recommends dark colors and avoiding horizontal stripes for wide body shapes. The illusions may be real, but there are other factors at play that can make any look work for you. Maybe you’re wide but you have a long torso and horizontal stripes may give the illusion that your torso is shorter. (It’s just an idea. I don’t know if that works. You’d have to try it to see for yourself). Most importantly, at the end of the day, whatever you feel most comfortable and confident in is what is best for you. You are the one living in your body. You are the one wearing your hair and clothes— not anyone else. Do what makes YOU feel beautiful even if it’s not what others suggest or approve of. God bless!

I couldn’t believe the first person you used as an example was Laura Dern— we share a lot of the same characteristics, so that was cool for me and really good info! Thanks! I enjoy your very informational and well-produced content!

Thank you so much! This video is a lifesaver~ My hairdresser just cut 4 inches off my hair and ruined it. Now I know why I have always disliked my hair at shoulder length, and using your techniques I can try to style my hair more flattering for the next year until it grows.

Low cranial top + long face. I personally like to avoid using products and much heat styling. I've found diagonal parts can be very flattering, and wearing my hair up overnight in a high, loose ponytail. I actually don't mind the look of having a shorter cranial top, but it helps me understand why I really don't like my hair pulled back tight, and why it creates the optical illusion of a large face 🤣
