This old guy probably has forgotten more about Mopar than most of us have ever known.

Im not a "mopar" guy but the early hemis are very awesome. The r&d for race stuff was very impressive. They did a great job

magnesium intakes blew my mind the first time I picked one up too. My mercedes has one and it feels as light as plastic even though it's metal and 4 pieces. I'd say about 3 packs of cigarettes lol

My step dather and i were working for one of the 2 current last living people with true gt40 blue prints. I picked up a very wide mag wheel he had, and i knew it was going to be light but it was so light i still almost mashed my face in with it when i picked it up. Hes in south shore massachussetts and still makes the bodies special order to this day and race in the 24 hour le mans

The Nascar intakes were nicknamed "bathtubs" for the way the carb set down inside the plenum

When I did powdercoating, there was a customer who had brought some valve covers from a nascar motor when I first started. My boss told me they were sentimental to him but didn't say why. Anyway, for some reason they decided to strip the paint instead of blasting it and it ate away at so much metal. It was horrible and they tried to hide it with fillers. Needless to say, I left that place. Felt so bad for that guy

The old man is the guy who asks how much horse power you want and delivers 25 more

Yeah, magnesium is great. Lighter than aluminum and about the same strength. They're just more costly and much more flammable.
