The rebuild Raider having a first day of sea trials

Показать описание
Raider was delivered as Rodis V by Schichau Unterwesser in Bremerhaven after a design by Willem De Vries Lentsch Jr. in 1964. The 29m/ 95ft yacht was built for an Egyptian owner and during construction sold to a former head of secret service in England who enjoyed the yacht in the Med.
The yacht eventually went back to the North and was put into service for charters in Finland as Fiona. She was purchased again by an Englishman, renamed Raider, towed to England and later on to Croatia.
The intention was to rebuild Raider completely in Croatia after a design by UK based design studio Roel de Groot including a new superstructure and engines, but after a dispute with the shipyard towed to Turkey and eventually she sailed under its own power to Gibraltar after having difficulties with the Turkish yard as well. Once the carpentry was completed in Gibraltar the yacht was sold to a local developer for the completion and sales in 2014.
Although still uncompleted, her current Dutch owner purchased Raider in 2017 and brought her under her own power to Van Leest Scheepsbouw in Warmond one year later. After a 1 ½ year major rebuild, Raider left the shed on the 28th of last month in a better than new condition, equipped with many features unique for a yacht this size.
