The Forgotten User - Katherine Cory - DrupalCamp NW 2013

As designers and developers we design experiences to ensure our sites meet the end users' needs and achieve goals. However, I believe there are forgotten users in this process and these are our clients. Websites can fail if our clients cannot update and manage their content.We're too comfortable communicating with each other; sharing articles on Twitter using our technological jargon that we've forgotten to take the time to talk to people outside our industry. We forget that not everyone is computer literate; we take for granted that we know what a web browser or search engine is.The web doesn't scare us; we need to remember to take the time to communicate with our clients, to ensure our sites are maintained and the end users receive the experience that we've designed.
