Hi-Fi Rush Soundtrack - Mimosa Boss Music (Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can Elsinore Cover)

Here's the song that plays during the bossfight with Mimosa. The original is Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can, but the ingame version uses a cover produced by Elsinore and sung by Kayla Brown.

This one has a lot more parts working for it compared to the Rekka fight. No special versions for difficulties, just lots of split parts for each segment of the fight. I considered placing the guitar bits in with the dance battle part, but unfortunately it seems like they tweak some of the sounds within the engine. Since I don't know exactly what numbers they used to pitch the sounds, I didn't want to mess it up. The chorus bits in this track correspond mostly to the transition animations between verses in the actual fight.

I kept in the ending of the game's original track Backstage Hustle - REO and Masatoshi Yanagi in, as I thought it gave better context to the start of the bossfight.

I've been looking for this and the Free Radicals cover for a while. The other licensed songs aren't hard to find because they're not covers, but I was craving these two. You've done a fantastic job splicing them together, this is how I imagine it would sound if an official OST was released, which I hope we do get. This will definitely suffice for the time being. I love the different vibe that the bridge has (2:02 onwards) from the original. There it was played in half time but here it stays at the same tempo as the rest of the song. It kind of gives the impression that the energy of the fight has changed and the tide is turning in Chai’s favour. God this game’s sound design is so peak
