When Del Shannon crashed onto the UK music scene in the Spring of 1961 with his massive hit, "Runaway", his unique sound wowed his teen audience. Before the year was out, he followed it with this, another UK Top 10 hit, and established himself as a new major force in rock music.

Thanks for sharing the lyrics to this wonderful song. Del Shannon was also a great songwriter and it's sad that last year in Jun 2020, we also lost Max Crook. I wonder who he left his Musitron too. Now both of them are no longer around but both of them were responsible for this song. 1961 was a wonderful year for Del Shannon.

Del Shannon was born Charles Westover in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 30 1934 and grew up in nearby Coopersville, Michigan. He died on February 8 1990 from a self inflicted gunshot wound..
