And don't forget the good old standard... if you start to feel funky, close your eyes, then calmly remove the headset. This is the first thing I tell anyone trying VR with me. :D

The fan works because it orients your position within the room. So your body always knows which direction it’s in depending on where the air is coming from. Neck fans only help with heat and keeping you cool, but a box fan pointed at you just outside your play space will help significantly more

walking/running in place really helped me, I started right into an "intense" game with my oculus rift S and I'm very pron to motion sickness, but this worked for me until I built up a tolerance.

Thank you so much! I’ve played vr games before but my first time playing vr chat made me so sick in just 15 minutes. This helped me so much! :]

I would say the top tips for avoid motion sickness is to use your eyes to look around, instead of moving your head to much. And focus your gaze, at some fixed point in the game, while moving will help too. Think of how important it can be for some to look out of the window when they are passenger in a car. Try also to relax, to much tension may also increase the risk for nausea.

Just got a Quest yesterday and was giving it a try. Didn't have any issues with motion sickness in Beat Saber, but the Demo of Weapons of the Gods made me a bit sick. Your vid was the first one that came up on a youtube search for this issue and seems to be solid advice. I'm happy to find out that this is something that I can build up a tolerance, and i think I'll check out those bracelets. Thanks for the tips!

Great advice. I’m using teleportation to move because I do have a problem. Hoping it will go away over time. Might give those bands a try

Drink alot of water. Dehydration is a real killer it creeps up on you and your eyes get a good workout they need the lube. I also use a massive fan it not only helps with cooling you off but help me with orientation in the room.

Great video cheers mate. []`

I’m trying to overcome my VR motion sickness. Sounds like it’s pretty common if you’re new and jump straight to non stationary games. It’s a shame so many people return their VR device because they play a few times and feel sick and don’t even research it or think they can overcome it.

My brother owns one and I suffered from motion sickness pretty bad. The whole experience gives me headaches and feeling tired. I’m glad now he brought one and not me.

I had never in my LIFE gotten motion sickness until today. I was fine with the stationary games with VR but when I played phasmaphobia (sp?) I started feeling it. I did push through because I was playing with other people. I went to the bathroom a few times though and therefor took the headset off and felt fine the second I took it off. I started to feel better when I bounced up and down while I was walking in game.
I wonder if the fan helps because it blows by your ears and that is the feeling when you are walking outside? I am going to try that when I play any game with walking next time.

Nice!
Not just “mint” gum but chewing gum in general has helped me. The chewing does something to the inner ear maybe? I use all the methods. Wrist bands etc... Very sensitive. Ha. I can vouch for the stopping right away thing. I’ve now built up a much higher tolerance doing that. Don’t push through for even a second. Take a break.

I get motion sickness really bad. I use the elastic bracelets and they work pretty well. Running in place made me get sick so that is a no way for me. I can see a fan helping because it cools you down when you get that clammy heat sweat when you are about to get sick. Although, that should be the sign to stop whatever you are doing because you are about to hurl.

I feel like I’m a very rare case as I just cannot get motion sick with even the most intense of games. When I first started playing VR I’d get more of a head high which I enjoyed but now nothing. I could jump into echo VR with pitch, yaw and roll on and turned up to max speed, fall from great heights or sprint in a game with smooth locomotion with absolutely no disorientation or motion sickness. I’m very grateful for this however it kind of kills the fun when I’m having a blast but my buddies are over there getting sick.. my dad is the same way. His first time in VR I had him jump into an intense flight sim and nothing..

I take Bonamine (Meclizine) 30mins before playing. Does wonders.

Try your best to look straight aswell. Due to the weight of some vr headsets most people prefer to look down which encourages sickness.
