Lakeside Camping Ground - River Murray Camping / South Australia

Lakeside Camping Ground is a privately owned campground which has been on our bucket list for some time now. It is a large lawned area offering camping near the River Murray in South Australia. There is a small fee to camp here which the owners put back into the campground. The campground is located approximately 2 hours from Adelaide and is located on the backwaters of the River Murray near Caurnamont.

Water a bit dirty, went fishing wit a mate back in the mid 60's at Waikerie and could see fish and the bottom it was so clean.

Mick I would think that those shacks next to the river would have to be cheap as they are on the low side of the river and it’s known to flood sometimes.

Sitting and viewing your latest at Hay in the Sandy Point camp site....is a rippa spot and river swollen with extra flood waters....looking great.
Unfortunately we had to scamper back homewards from Townsville due to a family crisis. And what we bypassed will still be there for next adventure.
This last 2 day venture sure did look sweet, and again so close to home....Cheers mate for once again sharing.👌
