Can't believe some of the comments here. If you live in the middle of the forest, fine, let your house go to sh*t. If you live in a community, be a part of that community and have some consideration for your neighbors. Live and let live only goes so far. Sure, there are codes on the books that are not justified or enforcement is taken too far. I gave one example below, but there are at least three more in our small subdivision of about 100 homes. One has a semi-trailer, about 45' long parked parallel to and next to the street. Another has a power shovel and log splitter on his front lawn covered with tarps, unused for the past two months. Actually, I can give you two more but you get the point. We're concerned about the decline of our neighborhoods as renters move in and residents use their properties for commercial purposes. Code enforcement has its place.
