Its important to differentiate between "Exposure 1" rated OSB and standard OSB. Home builders use stuff like Advantech or LP Legacy that are specifically made with resins and "exterior glue" to withstand water until the house is dried in. Those products carry a watranty accordingly. Standard everyday subfloor OSB won't necessarily have the same glue/resins as those other products.

You are completely correct. My flooring during construction got soaked multiple times and my osb only became discolord when i used a tarp nothing else happened. Praise G-d

Have to disagree with this one osb swells and deforms when wet. If you checkout any prefab shed when the siding is removed you will know this material does not hold up to water.

I find that OSB has random weak spots vs plywood. Plywood is consistent in its construction vs OSB were no to pieces are the same. There was OSM on my bathroom floor and the toilet rocked so had to reinforce under the toilet or rip up the OSB and put plywood down. We used to use 3/4 plywood on floor now it 9/16 OSB. Cheaper isn't ever better, you only get what you pay for.

If your floor gets wet, scrape the high spots and seal it. Good as new.

I just bought a house with what I’m guessing is OSB for walls in the garage, but it’s so dirty in there. How do I wash without ruining it?

The tongue and grove osb floor i installed on my shed base started creaking 2 days after installing it. Floor frame it got mounted on is completely level, square and has three 4x4 supporting the 2x4 that go across every 16". I also used deck screws every 6 inches around every sheet of osb and spaced out screws every 10 inches in the center locations. Any idea why it would begin creaking all of the sudden?

I'm on a major budget and have to replace my floors in the next year in my mobile home. This seems a good choice?

I have always used plywood to lay down over lawn or dirt areas where I would have to move heavy material in a wheel barrow. Osb does not do well. It absorbs water and is easily ruined after just a couple days. Plywood last much longer and will dry out and still be strong

With all the plywood is supporting- why not use marine grade plywood- when you have $10-15, 000 remodel, sitting on it—😮—

Why don't you use concrete or concrete slabs?
