A while ago, there was a livestream with a bunch of VOs, like people from baulders gate, valorant ect, and they managed to raise $5000 to keep humans in video games.

They are also fighting for the right to “own your voice” so to speak. One lady on the event said that she found her voice on an AI voice website, and when she requested it to be taken down, the company essentially said “HaHa, you can’t do anything!”

AI is what happens when you have a society that values cheap and efficient over everything else. As audiences we really need to think seriously about the quality that of the products we’re accepting because they will provide us with whatever is the lowest level we’re willing to pay for. As consumers we have the power to hold the line and demand better quality, they won’t make it if they can’t sell it.

People will argue that you can't make AI companies license their training data because the AI pulls from a million sources and it's impossible to tell what went into each prompt. And yeah, if you ask an AI to write a generic fantasy story about dragons, it would be pretty much impossible to tell which work the AI is copying.

But if you ask an AI to replicate, say, Sungwon's voice reciting a copypasta, it's extremely clear who the training data came from. It came from Sungwon. It's all him. And if you want to use that voice clip for profit, Sungwon needs creative control over that license.

It was funny at first when it was bad. But its becoming more and more popular. People are using it to replace not just artists but animators, VA's, actual directors. Its unregulated crap thats killing jobs and the environment. The amout of resources it uses and the amount of theft they need in order to make actual crap? Its not worth it. I want AI to be used to predict canser, save lives, restore the environment. THATS what i want AI to do.

I wanted to be a voice actor as a kid, no computer can replace these incredible, talented, lovely people. it cannot replace the proformances that have brought me to tears or made me feel safe. Ai will never be on par with human voices and human proformances.

It's very dystopian that AI is being used to replace talented artists rather than in dangerous or unflattering work. I know there aren't many physical forms of AI but I think programmers should focus on that so humans have more time to be well... Human.

I completely agree with ProZD on this with AI. We mainly just need to be taking slower steps, not these giant leaps forward, because as we've seen a lot of people are fearing what idiots are doing with this
