I was a teen once and been to many house parties. We NEVER thought about tearing up a house. Left it messy yes, with drink cups and trash maybe but nothing like this.

*I CAN GUARANTEE EVERY ONE OF THOSE KIDS ARE ALL FROM WELL TO DO FAMILIES* . The rich kids down at Paradise Point break into homes down there and they all get away with it. One reason why we moved out. The kids would use dinghies to case the homes on sovereign island to see who's home and then break in and use the boats to carry their loot. Usually when their parents are away and left them at home. We saw them red handed and called the police and when they investigated, it turned out the parents were both high ranking lawyers. So I can't imagine what it is like now thanks to social media

I agree. I work in a school and have to say that children these days don't know what respect is.☹️

Really airBNB should not be allowed in the suburbs.... Imagine living next door to that place..

The Mafia and Triads rented our Air BNB for 1 week as a central location to pickup $80, 000, 000 in cocaine, flown in by private charter from PNG. After the detectives and police from three states raided our Air BNB home and arrested the " mules" we decided to rent the home to long term tenants.

These young people or their families must pay for the mess

Set to a minimum of 2 or 3 nights with a nice house like that. We all know 1 night bookings are very likely to be for party use.

Twelve years ago, the antenna of my new car broke as partygoers dispersed from a rented house. It looked lika a paid event, which was rare in our area, and the sight of dozens of youths kicking, bustling, and roaming around caused quite a stir. In Benjamin's case, I can imagine the trouble it caused for the neighbors, all stemming from the owner's poor decision.

I own investment properties but wouldn't dream of putting them on airbnb. Would much rather rent to a long-term tenant because that to me is a win/win. The rise of airbnb is one of the main contributors to rents surging. Just think how any properties have been taken out of the rental pool, yet no one wants to address this.

Why did he let underaged kids to book it? If it is booked by an adult for them then the adult should be held responsible.

Its affecting you're neighbours think of other people rather then lining you're pockets.

The problem is people are so greedy now and look what they get a wrecked house which in the long term costs more to maintain
rent to long term tenants with good references and u will have less issues.

Airbnb. One more house not available for a family to have as a home.

Zero sympathy.

What about the neighbours having to put up with this because you decided to rent this house to anyone.

Long term renters probably wont do that, no sympathy for those who have Airbnb their property to people they have not screened, like a normal tenant.
You get what you pay for.

Youths do need to get discipline. Following America by not allowing it was a huge mistake.

THIS is what hotels and motels have dealt with for decades. He wanted to be a private hotelier and ooerates with all the inherent risks. Its his neighbours I really feel for.

Having a great tenant would absolutely solve your problems 👍
Air b&b is destroying small towns in Tasmania.
There is nowhere for anyone to live 😞

500 people you say?? More like 30-50. What do you think is going to happen when you rent your place to teenagers for the weekend? These Air B&B owners are charging huge amounts for these places for profit and are well aware of the risks. Play your violin somewhere else mate, many Australians are homeless at present.
