2. What is the volume of a 20% Methyl solution that contains 15mL of Methyl?

Given: 20% methyl solution (meaning that the solution is made up of 20% methyl)
15mL of methyl (the volume of methyl)

What is asked: volume of the solution

If the solution contains 15mL of methyl, why is the volume of the solution 3mL of methyl?

20%=15mL
multiply both sides by 5 to get the volume of 100% of the solution
100%=75mL

The solution has 15mL of methyl (20%), 60mL of another component (80%), which makes the total volume 75mL.
