I’m a roofing contractor (40 yrs). Well put together video but ridge vent is no where as efficient as wind turbines or power turbines. Doesn’t it make sense that something that actually pulls air out of attic as opposed to ridge vent. If you are on a roof you can stand next to a turbine and feel hot air coming out turbine. Nothing when you are next to ridge vent. The only time that is not true is on a 3:12 pitch roof. That pitch needs some ventilation between every rafter.
And while on roofing products. Anything actually produced by certainteed is a problem. The number of times I come upon a defective product, 50% of these problems are certainteed products. Blows my mind how they continue to produce products that they know will fail within 5 years.
There are no roof products that I will absolutely stay away from it is certainteed.

Lime the comment about the availability. I'm in SE Queensland. I imagine florida or southern cal would have similar warm humid climate. But having problems finding continuous soffit vents. Also just no practice of using plywood or something that can be custom cut and screwed and unscrewed if needed.

Should you have more than ridge vents. Currently having leaking ducts. Had a turbine until roof was placed. No soffitt vents ever. What is the best solution

Looks like it causes water to go in your roof. Watching the video I seen places where it would run in. Also your promoting holes right beside your gutters. I’ve been looking to see what is the real workings of roof ventilation. I haven’t found a dang thing. Just people saying “that ain’t right”, or tell you what they would use. Then the sellers telling you what they offer. Why would I care if it’s hot in my attic? I’m not up there. And if you don’t put holes in your roof to leak then water is not a problem. If you have water in your roof, get the roof fixed. People only talk about it letting heat out. What about when it’s cold? I sit in my house everyday freezing my ass off, even during the summer here on the South Carolina/georgia line. Why would I want to get rid of the heat. Maybe I can go hide up there from my family so I’m not a popsicle all day.
