F1 22 in VR! | Our First Impressions

EA SPORTS F1 22 will feature virtual reality for the very first time. Watch as John tries a work in progress build as Alex Albon, in a Williams, in the rain and Silverstone using an og HTC Vive.

If you are in the fortunate position of owning both a powerful gaming PC and a VR headset, then F1 22 will be the very first official F1 game to feature the technology when it releases this July.

VR will be playable across all game modes too, even online – although that was not available to test at this early stage.

This is a PC-only feature for now. John used a Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel base combined with a Formula wheel rim.

VR + Voice commands = I'm never (ever) gonna leave this game LOL like, seriously, I've tried voice command on F1 2021 and it's awesome pressing the radio button, actually saying "box this lap", get the confirmation, press again, say "set intermediates", etc. Ultimate immersion!

I'm happy that even with damage you can now steer well in the f1 car. In the 2021 game when you have wing damage you can't do anything

Well done with the video capture, VR can be tricky like that. I'm one of those who have waited years for this and it looks fantastic. If they hadn't introduced VR in this year's game I probably would have waited until it was on EA pass.
