Ultraman Episode 1:

While patrolling the skies on the night shift, Shin Hayata reports back to home base he has seen a U.F.O. An enormous red orb is chasing a blue orb across the night sky. As fate would have it, Hayata's ship accidentally collides with the red object just as the blue U.F.O. descends into a nearby lake. Hayata is saved by the strange alien inhabiting the red glowing vessel. From the Nebula M78, the benevolent being explains it was pursuing the monstrous pilot of the blue ship, Bemular, after it escaped being escorted to the Monster Graveyard. Merging with Hayata and giving him the Beta Capsule, the SSSP (Science Special Search-Party) member secretly becomes Ultraman whenever monsters or aliens threaten the Earth.

I loved this show when I was a kid. It was broadcast on WXON Detroit in the 1980s, along with Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot. Ultraman's time slot was close to when I'd get home from school. Seeing this stirs up some long buried memories.

We use to love watching Ultra Man. We would watch it with my cousins then after we would argue on who got to be Ultra Man first, then Uktra man would beat us all up because the rest of us would be various monsters from different episodes. 😊

Can't believe this is available and free on YouTube; watched this every Saturday morning at age 8-10 or so, in the English-dubbed version of course!
Ultraman's warning light begins to blink. He must fly to the sun to recharge, or he'll die and the monster will destroy Tokyo! Great stuff.

I used to watch this when I was 5 y old. I'd go to my neighbour's house after school, she had a colour tv, the only one on the street. I was the only kid who knew Ultraman's suit was grey and red. I so wanted Hayata's cool helmet. When I got a ski helmet, my first thought was "finally, Hayata's helmet" 😂
