You two should follow a program for a couple of months. You two already have the discipline to lift consistently and you two have each other to hold each other accountable. Following a powerlifting program will blow up your squat bench and deadlift

I get it, it got to be hard trying to explain something to someone who won't listen its like talking to a wall. but keep on warning him about the dangers because one day he's going to break something if he doesn't calm down and lift more seriously in a calmer manner.

Couple tips. First, you shouldn’t need straps for anything you lifted. Instead, you a hook grip, one palm faces towards you, the other faces away from you. 2. Wear a belt, it keeps you core and back engaged during the lift. 3, bring your legs closer together, you’ll have to move a little further, but it will make it easier to straighten your back out first, then lift with your legs, and 4. Scapular retraction! If you bring your shoulder blades together, it will engage the muscles in the upper back, helping to prevent injury and distribute the weight between more muscles.
