I miss my old girl we had to put her down in my early teens I'm 22 now God she helped me through so much ngl I never admitted this but I'm scared to find another but maybe just maybe one day I'll find a youngin & watch her grow and help me through the darkness just like my old girl once did for me

I miss the Arabian gelding I grew up with... I haven't seen him in forever. My aunt, who owns him, disowned me when I was 14. He was near his 20's at the time. She promised for years to teach me to ride. Never did. Now I am in my 20s, just hoping I can find anyone who's willing to teach me.
I can't afford lessons, I just want to surprise my girlfriend with a weekend trail riding trip.

This reminds me of my first horse. I lost him when I was 9. He lived to be 36. He was an amazing horse.

Such a good poem. Makes me miss my buddy a lot tho. Tricket was my buddy for a good 10 years. He was already old when we adopted him. He was the best thing I could've ever gotten. I miss him so much now a days, its been a little over four years without him, and I still forget he's gone. Miss you Tricket.

My username is my "this old horse", well one of them but she is the first of the three I have right now. I've had many people ask why I put so much into them, and it's because they put all that and more into me. They gave the best years of their lives to literally carry me, and caring for them now is a pleasure. I love them for every step they took trying to understand and please me, and every adventure we went on together. Sometimes we'd take the trail I wanted to see, sometimes we'd take the trail they wanted to see, every time was wonderful. I owe them more than I could ever repay.

Touched me right in the feels. I have had a hucul pony for 14 years now, since he was 8. He had massive problems with his tendons, he also came back from the clinic two weeks ago (he had a colic incident), but feels better now :-)
