I really appreciate the shout out man, thank you! I can now see why they would be a very poor choice for that spot lol. Thanks for talking some sense into me, I don’t have any experience with Arbutus so I wasn’t aware the compact form is not exactly “compact”. I think I’ll go back to the drawing board and think of some other options. I’ll save those species for somewhere else in the garden with more space.

Beautiful. I’ve got a much smaller one in a container. Gorgeous. Amazing you never water them. They get pretty big I see!

Thanks! I just picked up another one yesterday, so I am trying for 3 of these in The Dalles. I'm thinking they'll do alright; a friend of mine has one here and last winter really stunted it and had some minor defoliation, but it has recovered nicely.

Fingers crossed this winter won't be so horrible!

I’ve seen videos stating they can get much bigger than 8-10 ft. I’m taking about the dwarf variety not the marina. Varying reports on height. They state the longer in ground the bigger it gets.
