DIY Router Table Workflow Upgrades

preview_player
Показать описание
The router table is an important woodworking shop tool that often requires changing bits and re-settings and the job progresses. Having a quick handy storage place for the bits and adjustment tools will contribute immensely to helping to keep workshop workflow moving ahead and hopefully avoiding distracting actions ... like searching for parts, tools, and machine adjustment instruments. Check out the article for more detail.

I also have the same lift and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately froud has stopped making tools and there accessories I need some parts for mine and can’t get them. I made a box under my router to improve the dust collection and it has made a great difference

Great concept that can be applied to many other tools or areas in a shop thanks for posting.

Creative, and an inspiration. Looking for tools is usually an unplanned opportunity for exercise in my shop.

I have the Triton router and table, it has a lift built in and allows bit changes from the top of the machine. Some good ideas and solutions.

Nice tips, mate. 👍🏽
Nothing worse than a poorly set up shop to stifle the work flow.
Great table you got there, too.

Another great tip for magnets, you have used them everywhere in your workshop

I have a different approach. My Kreg table has sufficient room below the router in which I have a cabinet similar in size to yours. Rather than hang it on the wall with a door, mine has a drawer. Then everything is always with the router and is both quickly and easily accessible. Additionally I can leave some objects on top of the cabinet temporarily while working on something rather than having them on the table. (featherboards, etc)

I haven’t got a router or a router table yet. Which ones the best to use?

Have a smaller Craftsman steel table, not permanently bolted down. (Inherited.) Handheld routing is difficult for me with our bigger routers. Considering table designs. What features aside from a lift does anyone suggest as important? Thanks!
