Andrew, I've lurked for a while, and as a result of watching your videos, last week I bit the bullet and bought a Kupo 546 Boom stand. For many years I have asked gaffers what nets did, but not until this point with this video, do I feel I truly understand their utility. This was brilliant teaching, and you are a brilliant teacher. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, you are a pillar of goodness in an otherwise torrent of garbage. I'm in Sydney, so if you ever come this way there's a free couple of beers on offer for you 👍🏻

Don’t know if it’s the same down under, but here in the US we call a full set of nets/silks a “sandwich” since the frame color of the nets/silks are like the items in a sandwich (yellow for the cheese, green for the lettuce, red for the ketchup, etc). So if the gaffer on set says “get me a sandwich” they probably mean a full set of nets and silks like this. Great video Andrew, keep up the good work!

that white net segment was mind blowing. never even seen one in a truck lol, now i want one handy. I have to test that out with interview setups. that could be a game changer

Thanks for filling us in on why nets are still valuable with dimmable led lights.
