Mojave Air & Space Port in Southern California

The Mojave Air and Space Port in Southern California is a legendary hub for aerospace innovation and commercial spaceflight.

Known for its cutting-edge research and testing, it has been home to groundbreaking aviation and space projects, including the development of private space travel and experimental aircraft.

One of the most iconic aircraft associated with Mojave is the Scaled Composites Stratolaunch Model 351, also known as Stratolaunch or Roc. With the largest wingspan in aviation history—385 feet (117 meters)—this massive twin-fuselage aircraft was designed to serve as an airborne launch platform for orbital rockets. Initially developed by Scaled Composites and backed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, Stratolaunch represents a bold vision for air-launching satellites and space missions from high altitudes.

Mojave Spaceport continues to be a key player in the future of aerospace, hosting pioneering companies like Virgin Galactic, Masten Space Systems, and Stratolaunch, all pushing the boundaries of space exploration and high-speed flight.
