The Koryak volcano, or Koryakskaya Sopka, is the active and highest volcano in the south of Kamchatka. Its height is easy to remember: 3456 m. It belongs to the "home" volcanoes, that is, it is located near the city and is clearly visible from any point of it.

Koryakskaya Sopka attracts climbers as an accessible, but not too easy peak. It requires good physical fitness, basic athletic training and skills in special equipment. Even among the Petropavlovsk residents themselves, for whom the view of the Koryak peak is familiar, like the sun and moon, not everyone has visited it.

For those who manage to climb the Koryak volcano, the best panoramic view in the whole south of Kamchatka opens from above: the craters of the neighboring hills, the Nalychevskaya Valley, the nearest cities, the bay and the ocean - up to the horizon.
