I had the belkin one and it sucked for scratches. Spigen makes very nice products though so I hope it holds up better for you.

How strong is the area between the home button & the lighting connector does is sag or feel flimsy?

I love mine. very scratch resistant. had it for a few weeks, And it still looks great.
I throw it in my pocket with my keys or my money clip and there are no noticeable scratches.
