Let's walkthrough all the "chicken scratch" your CFI has been making in your logbook during flight training. There are very specific guidelines for what goes in here, and if you're thinking of becoming a CFI, you'll need to be comfortable with them.

It's great to see a face after seeing so many of your videos. I love your channel, very useful information!

Truthfully, the student should be filling out their log book after the first few lessons and have the instructor review it. Just like self-serve fueling and landing on actual grass, too many students out there get certificated without the real-world experience.

Nice to put a face with the all so familiar voice.😃

Thanks for that, and as always, the information, too.

5:58 I beg to differ. How, then, does one satisfy "3 hours of _flight training_ in a single-engine airplane on the control and maneuvering of an airplane solely by reference to instruments" if the CFI is "just a safety pilot" and it cannot be counted as Dual Instruction? Also, how can the student pilot log PIC with an Instructor onboard?

I've been doing all of my own book entries and checking with the eptr to make sure I'm accurate, my logbook includes landing types and some other procedures not listed in the example

7:15 A 0.3mm "Needle tip" pen works wonders for filling in logbooks legibly. 😊

How do we log training given in a sim? He stopped after the first 2 columns. Dual received? Simulated (hood)?

How do you log AATD time? My CFIs are confusing me. They’re logging it differently. Should I put that as flight training received or ground training received?

I think this is the first time we've seen your face.... Not what I was expecting. For some reason I was expecting some young 20 something ha

Isn't it better to put a row like: KXXX KYYY and then next row, KYYY KXXX with the data separated as two flights, instead of KXXX KYYY KXXX improvised?

I'm an AGI/IGI who has yet to do any instructing and I've never seen any requirements for me to log ground instruction given, other than in the learners' logbooks. Is it required, recommended, or a don't-care? What format do you recommend? Should I just put it into my pilot's logbook?

I haven't flown for years because of medical issues and I thought that becoming a Ground Instructor would be a good way for me to keep my hand in. If I can help some young people achieve their dreams, so much the better.
