I tell people I had pregnancy brain and now it’s developed into mom-nesia. Memory loss is also associated with mental illness like depression. I know that’s definitely affected my memory. You’re not alone Laura. ❤

I’m living in constant triggers of bad times during infant stage but when I look at photos and videos I think
Wow they are so adorable and cute I wish I enjoyed it more but I had 0 support or help.

I was having a really hard time with mental health when my kids were born and directly afterwards. I thought it (my lack of memories) was just because of my mental state that I have a lot of false guilt and shame about.

Thank you for bringing this up, as it has shown that my lack of memory about this time has little to nothing to do with my "moral failings" from that extremely difficult season.

Thank you.

Never alone, eh? 😊

My brain is fried. My kids and family ask me all the time "do you remember.." and I tell them that I'm lucky I remember this morning. 🤣 My 5 and 8 year old are alive and healthy and know momma loves them and that's what matters.

Think of the pure exhaustion you were living every single day through during those years. No wonder memories are missing! Some days it was everything you could do to just be able to get 10 minutes to shower, let alone 8 hours of sound sleep at night to recharge and re-energize your brain. Don’t feel bad and don’t worry about it. 😊

Yes!! I keep thinking it’ll get better as my kids get older but it’s not. Breaks my heart a bit but it’s out of my control, unfortunately.

Thank you! I was mad at my mom because I asked her, what kind of toddler we were and she seemed to not know anything but maybe 1-2 things.. 😅

Yep, randomly happens with me. There is an explanation to that. And what we think we remember it is actually a distorted reality, our memories are reconstructed. That is how we are made. And for faces... we do remember them from photos, not from our minds. There are a few TED talk about this.

We only have so much storage space in our heads for memories and your subconscious picks and chooses which is important for self- preservation and survival. Primal, instincts for the species is to survive and multiply. You've multiplied so the only room in your memory bank is for how to survive now. Sucks to be human eh?😉🌺

No memories here. Pregnancy brain never goes away. Our babies take most of our brain cells. I'm sure of it.

Our children grow up so fast! I cannot remember every picture I took when my babies were little but all the important milestones and the hilarious things they said; the adorable faces, their smiles every day, I do! Don't be hard on yourself! They grow up way too fast and you are doing a fantastic job!💞💞💞💞💞

I was in the middle of watching your first Ding Dong's podcast episode yesterday and now it's gone! Did this happen to anyone else? I can't find it anywhere and it was

I think we would remember more from our children's’ lives if we stayed off social media more!

Yes it’s gone, it’s impossible to remember every single day of our children’s lives. My oldest son is 34 almost 35 and sometimes I wonder how did he get to be this age now? Where did my little boy go?

Its because every bloody day since bringing our bundles of joy home have been on Ferris buellers time. 😆
